Profit/Loss (P/L) shows how much an investment has gained or lost.
Approved short definition: How much an investment has gained or lost. Example: After a position is closed, its P/L shows how much was gained or lost on that position. Do not use: Do not use “Profit/Loss” without clarifying the level if the context is ambiguous. P/L for a position, an asset, and Portfolio Value can refer to different figures.
