Can I vote at a company meeting?

Last updated: 12 August 2026

etoro clients can vote via electronic proxy in the shareholder meetings of the companies whose stocks they hold on the investment platform.

A shareholder meeting is a session that a public company holds with its various owners to discuss company activities, such as corporate actions, compensation approvals or elections to the board of directors.

Any etoro customer is eligible to participate just by holding a ‘real’ stock position (where they are investing in the underlying asset) before the record date set by the issuing company. When there is a company meeting, etoro partners with Broadridge to administer proxy voting on our behalf. We will send an email to the eligible customers with information on the upcoming vote, including the items to be voted on, the voting deadline, the link to join the meeting virtually, and the vote website.

Once etoro customers enter their votes via the website, our partner Broadridge aggregates them with all the other votes they collect and then registers them with the company on their behalf.

There is no obligation to take part in the voting process.

Note: etoro supports voting rights for whole shares of all securities worldwide. For fractional shares, voting rights are fully supported only for US securities. Non-US shares only have voting rights for the whole shares owned.
