1. What is a corporate account?

Corporate accounts are intended for business purposes and used by legal entities. This means that if you want to trade with capital belonging to your business, this is the account type you should open.

2. How do I open a corporate account?

Companies incorporated in Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Uruguay:

1. Go to the Join etoro page and Join as Business.
2. Create your account and complete the verification process.

Companies incorporated in other countries:

1. Sign up for a personal etoro account. Do not deposit any funds into the account at this stage.
2. Open a ticket in our Customer Service Center.
3. We will send you an application form and a checklist of what documents we need to verify your account. This information will be sent directly to the email address you used to sign up for your newly opened account.
4. Send us all the necessary documents.
5. Once your application has been verified, we will convert your personal etoro account to a corporate account.
6. Fund your account and start investing on etoro.

3. Which documents do I need to open a corporate account?

You will need to provide us with a clear copy of the following corporate documents:

For the legal entity:

• Recent extract from company registry
• Memorandum and Article of Associations
• Share register
• Group structure chart
• Proof of business address in the name of the company
• Recent bank statement
• Latest financial statements (audited if available)
• W-8 form
• Legal Entity Identification (LEI) code

For directors/shareholders/controlling persons owning 25% or more and authorised persons to trade:

• Passport
• Utility bill or bank statement
• W-8 form

Depending on the company structure, we may ask for certain additional supporting documents. It’s important to provide accurate and up-to-date information. 

4. What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible for a corporate account, you must:

• Have an eligible business type
• Have a corporate bank account
• Be able to submit the necessary documents

If you meet these criteria you can apply for a corporate account, but it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get a corporate account.

We hope to broaden this scope, but currently, we’re unable to onboard the following types of companies:

• Any business related to the sale of used cars
• Any unlicensed business involved in the sale of pharmaceutical or nutraceutical goods, or medical products
• Any business involved in the sale of chemical goods
• Any business representing an educational institution (school, university, etc.)
• Any business related to student loans or scholarships
• Any business related to the adult-oriented industry – materials, products or services (including escort services)
• Any business related to the sale of cannabis (or any other prohibited drug) products
• Any business related to insurance brokers or payday lenders
• Any business related to money transfer services or money service bureaus
• Any business related to the sale of precious metals, scrap metals or jewelry
• Any business that holds third-party funds for the purpose of investments, trading or otherwise
• Any business related to the sale of airline tickets, advanced booking or the travel industry
• Any business related to the online gambling, online gaming or the casino industry
• Any business related to the online dating industry
• Any business related to the e-cigarette and tobacco industry
• Any business related to the selling of firearms or firearms ammunition
• Any business related to auction services
• Any business related to ATM service providers
• Any business related to churches, religious or political organisations
• Any business related to convenience stores
• Charities or NGOs

5. What is the minimum deposit amount?

The minimum deposit means that you will need to transfer this amount to your etoro corporate account from your business bank account within 30 calendar days of the application being approved, otherwise, your account is at risk of being closed.

6. How long does it take for a corporate account to be approved?

Corporate accounts are approved at different paces, and this will usually be determined by the size of the company and the number of shareholders.

To speed up processing, please provide all documents that are requested in the application form. We can only begin processing your application when we receive all of the required documents.

7. I already verified my personal account. Can I change it to a corporate account?

If you have a personal account that has already been verified and has no transaction history, you may be able to convert it to a corporate account. To request an account conversion, please open a ticket.

8. Do I need a Legal Entity Identification (LEI) code?

All legal entities (both EU and Non-EU) that wish to open an account with etoro must have an LEI code; otherwise, no transaction can be concluded with such entities.

9. What is a W-8 form?

To establish status for US tax purposes, and to enable trading of US stocks and as required by the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), we need to collect the W-8 form from non-US entities and individuals.
