How do I remove funds from a copy or Smart Portfolio?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
You can remove funds from an active copy of a Popular Investor or a Smart Portfolio if you want to return some funds to your ‘Cash Available’ balance while leaving the copy open.
To remove funds from a copy:
On the etoro mobile app
- Tap Portfolio at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the copy or Smart Portfolio from your list of assets.
- Tap the three-dot icon
at the top of the screen. - Tap Remove Funds.
- Enter the amount you wish to remove.
- Tap Update.
On the web version of etoro
- Go to your Portfolio (or click Portfolio in the sidebar).
- Click the three-dot icon
next to your copy or Smart Portfolio. - Click Remove Funds.
- Enter the amount you wish to remove.
- Click Update.
To close your entire investment, click the three-dot icon and select Stop Copying for a copy or Close Investment for a Smart Portfolio.
Important notes:
- You can remove funds down to the minimum investment amount required for that specific copy or Smart Portfolio.
- If your investment is marked as 'In Alignment', it is being adjusted to match the portfolio you are copying. You’ll have the option to remove funds only once the automatic reallocation is complete.
- Removing funds may trigger an automatic reallocation of the assets within the investment, even if the funds were not invested in open positions.
