When are stock market holidays?

While crypto can be bought and sold any day and any time all year, there are a handful of weekdays when the US stock markets are closed:

• New Year’s Day (January 1)
• National Day of Mourning (January 9)
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 20)
• Presidents’ Day (February 17)
• Good Friday (April 18)
• Memorial Day (May 26)
• Juneteenth (June 19)
• Independence Day (July 4)
• Labor Day (September 1)
• Thanksgiving Day (November 27)
• Christmas Day (December 25)

Markets also stop trading at 1pm ET on the day before Independence Day (July 3), the day after Thanksgiving (November 28), and the day before Christmas (December 24). Even though the market is closed, our customer support team is available on all weekdays.

National Day of Mourning

On January 9th, 2025 the markets will be closed for a National Day of Mourning to mark the death of former United States President Jimmy Carter.

Trading for stocks and options will not be available on January 9, 2025.  Options exercise and assignment activity will still take place on January 9th, using the settlement prices from January 8, 2025.

Crypto will still be available for trading.
