The 1% opening/closing spread on crypto is charged each time you buy or sell a cryptoasset on etoro. The fee is taken from your available cash when buying, and from the proceeds when selling.
This lets you view the real market price of the cryptoasset, since the fee is not included in the spread, making the cost of each trade clear.
The fee is shown as a separate line in your portfolio and account statement.
