Which type of orders does etoro offer in the US?

Not available in EN-US — showing English.
There are four types of orders that etoro offers US users: two orders to open trades and two to close them:
- Market order: An order to buy an asset when you want the best available price during market hours. By just clicking “Open Trade”, the order is usually filled immediately.
- Limit order: A market order that is executed once the rate you set is reached. Placing a limit order allows you to take advantage of price swings in the market. This option is only available when you open crypto trades.
- Stop Loss (SL): An instruction to close a trade at a specific rate or amount if the market falls. It works as a risk management tool that protects your investment and prevents additional losses. In the US, stop loss orders are only available for crypto, not for stocks and ETFs.
- Take Profit (TP): An instruction to close a trade at a specific rate if the market rises, to ensure your profit is realized and goes to your cash available balance. In the US, take profit orders are only available for crypto, not for stocks and ETFs.
