Not necessarily. Sometimes, when a trade does not happen instantly, a phenomenon known as slippage may occur, in which the final converted amount may differ slightly from the initial estimate. Slippage refers to the difference between the expected price of a trade and the price at which the trade is actually executed.
To protect our clients from this phenomenon, etoro offers a maximum slippage guarantee, ensuring that the slippage on crypto-to-USD conversion will not exceed 5%. If slippage occurs beyond 5%, you will receive a refund for the difference within two business days directly into your etoro account.
This means you will always receive at least 95% of the expected value of your cryptoassets when selling them for USD.
Note: Conversion fees are applied at trade processing, so they will accurately reflect the final sale amount.
