How to open and manage your Plan d’Épargne Retraite (PER) (clients in France)

Last updated: 12 August 2026

What is a PER?

A Plan d’Épargne Retraite (PER) is a retirement savings plan available to etoro users in France, offering favourable tax treatment. It is offered through etoro Patrimoine in partnership with Generali Wealth Solutions.

You can invest in a personalised portfolio, tailored to your risk profile. Funds invested in a PER are locked until retirement, although certain exceptions apply under French law.

Minimum Investment & Contributions

After the first payment (minimum €300), you can continue to grow your plan at your own pace – either by making one-off contributions or setting up regular monthly payments from €50.

Getting started

  1. Log in to your etoro account.
  2. Open the left-hand menu and select Savings.
  3. Complete the onboarding process via etoro Patrimoine:
  4. Answer the risk profile questionnaire.
  5. Fill in your personal and financial details.
  6. Select PER.
  7. Select your preferred investment strategy.
  8. Make your initial contribution of at least €300.

It takes 3-5 business days for your PER to be set up. Once activated, you can monitor its performance and adjust your contributions at any time via the Savings tab.

Things to keep in mind

  • Your choice of portfolio (prudent, balanced, dynamic) determines your exposure to risk. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results.
  • Tax advantages depend on your personal tax situation and when the funds in the PER are accessed.
  • Fees apply. Review them on the etoro Patrimoine website
