Which currencies does my etoro account use?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Investment account
All etoro clients have an investment account, which operates in USD. Your base currency remains USD, even if you change the display currency.
When you deposit funds or trade assets in another currency, the amounts are automatically converted into USD.
Local currency account
In addition, eligible clients can open a local currency account to deposit, hold, and withdraw funds in their local currency. These funds can then be used to open trades.
A local currency account can be set up in one of the following currencies, depending on your country of residence:
- GBP (£) – for customers in the United Kingdom
- EUR (€) – for customers in the European Economic Area (EEA)
- DKK (kr.) - for customers in Denmark. Currently, etoro supports one local currency account per user. If you already have a EUR account, you may be able to switch to a DKK account in the future.
- AUD (A$) – for customers in Australia
