What do I buy when I buy a commodity on etoro?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
A commodity is a raw material or primary agricultural product that can be bought and sold, such as crude oil, gold, and wheat.
When you buy a commodity on etoro, you do not take ownership of the physical asset. Instead, you are trading via a Contract for Difference (CFD), which allows you to speculate on price changes without owning the underlying asset.
etoro does not offer any commodities as physical assets; all commodity trading on the platform is conducted through CFDs.
