Does etoro offer a public API?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Eligible etoro clients can connect to etoro's public API to retrieve data and build custom tools.
What is an API?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of rules that allows different software systems to communicate with each other. It is like a messenger that lets one application request data or services from another.
With etoro’s public API, technically skilled clients can retrieve data directly from etoro’s trading ecosystem and build custom tools.
What can be built with the etoro public API?
Clients can retrieve a host of data directly from etoro, such as:
- market data – get real-time rates, instrument info, quotes, market spread, execution prices, and ETF details
- portfolio and account – view your portfolio, profit and loss, and trading history for both your real and virtual accounts
- trading – place Stop Loss, Take Profit, and Trailing Stop Loss orders, and cancel pending orders
- watchlists and social – manage watchlists and create, delete, or fetch social posts
- sandbox – use the demo environment to test trading and data access
With this data, a number of integrations can be created, including:
- portfolio dashboards and analytics
- custom watchlists and alerts
- social and trading integrations for third-party platforms
- trading bots and AI agents
Whocan access the API?
Access to the API is available to fully verified etoro clients. The API is designed for clients with a technical background, such as developers.
The type of access available depends on your country of residence:
- clients in Singapore can create read-only keys for their real account and read+write keys for their virtual account
- clients in all other eligible countries can create read+write keys for both real and virtual accounts
HowdoI generate an API key?
- Go to Settings.
- Select Trading.
- Under 'API Key Management', click Create New Key.
API key generation is only available on the web version of etoro, not the mobile app. You can view previously generated keys in the same section.
If you need help setting up the API, building your app, or submitting it for review, read through our etoro API guide.
You can also now browse and install ready-made applications directly from the etoroAppStore in the left-side menu. For these installed apps, authentication is handled automatically via SSO/OAuth, so no manual API key management is required.

If you do not see the API Key Management section under Trading settings, check that your account is fully verified. If your account is verified and the option is still not visible, try accessing it from the web version of etoro and ensure your browser is up to date.
