How do I set a limit order?

Last updated: 12 August 2026

A limit order is a type of order that allows you to select the price that your trade will automatically be executed at.

The process for setting a limit order is the same whether the market is open or closed.

In the etoro AI app, the trade ticket opens as a full-screen page rather than a pop-up window, but the steps for setting a limit order are similar.

  1. Choose an instrument and tap Trade to open the execution screen.
  2. In the top right corner, tap Market and switch to Limit order
  3. Enter the limit price you want the order to be executed at.
  4. Tap Set limit
  5. Set the amount you wish to invest, the Stop Loss, Take Profit, and adjust leverage, if applicable.
  6. Confirm the order.

Once your limit order is placed, it becomes a pending order, which now has its own section in your Portfolio. To view it:

  2. Tap the three dots at the top right corner.
  3. Tap Pending Orders from the list.
