Which regulatory framework applies to the etoro crypto wallet?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
The etoro crypto wallet is provided by different etoro entities, each supervised by its local financial regulator.
Regulation of crypto-asset services varies by region:
etoro (Europe) Ltd: authorised by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC, Licence 109/10) for the provision of crypto-asset services and products in accordance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). Provides services to etoro clients residing in EU member states.
etoro (UK) Ltd: authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA, FRN 583263) and registered under the UK Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs) for crypto-asset activities. Provides services to etoro clients in Bermuda, Georgia, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Isle of Man, Israel, Jersey, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
etoro (ME) Ltd: licensed and regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), which includes cryptoassets custody arrangements and trading. Provides services to all etoro clients resident in the United Arab Emirates, regardless of their trading platform entity.
etoro AUS Capital Ltd: holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL 491139) issued by ASIC and provides services to clients residing in Australia and New Zealand. Crypto-asset trading and wallet services are not yet regulated financial products in Australia.
etoro (Seychelles) Ltd: licensed by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) as a Securities Dealer (Licence SD076). This licence does not cover the provision of cryptoasset services. The provision of cryptoasset services is covered under a regulatory permission granted by the FSA pursuant to the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024.
Every etoro entity follows its local regulatory framework for crypto-asset services, including anti-money-laundering and customer-protection requirements. You can check which etoro entity your wallet is registered with by opening the left sidebar menu in the etoro crypto wallet and selecting Account.
