What is the Agent Portfolio on etoro?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
An Agent Portfolio is a separate portfolio within your etoro account that can be connected to an external AI agent via an API key, or created via Tori within etoro (no keys needed; everything is automated). In both cases, you decide how much money to allocate, and the agent can trade only within that portfolio - your main portfolio stays untouched.
This feature is not currently available in the etoro AI app. If you are using etoro AI, please use the etoro app or the web version of etoro for this action.
The Agent Portfolio is separate and appears as its own line in your etoro account, similar to how a copied or Smart Portfolio may look.
Clients looking to get started may opt to use Tori, an AI agent designed to integrate with Agent Portfolios.
Who can create an Agent Portfolio?
This feature is designed to cater to any user. For more technically skilled clients who are familiar with API keys and automated trading tools, we offer a flow where API keys can be created and then handled by any external AI agent the user might have.
Tori can help simplify this process for clients who prefer a ready-to-use solution rather than building or sourcing their own agent. Learn how to use Tori with Agent Portfolios
This feature has not yet been rolled out to all countries and is not currently available to Pro Investors. If you don’t see Agent Portfolios in the side menu, the feature is not yet available to your account.
How do I create an Agent Portfolio?
- Select Agent Portfolio in the left-hand menu. Or simply click here.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to create the portfolio.
Your new Agent Portfolio will remain empty until you connect your AI agent, such as Tori, and it starts trading.
For those who prefer a ready-to-use solution - start a chat with Tori on etoro and just ask it to create the Agent Portfolio following your preferences. Or simply click here.
How do I connect an AI agent to my Agent Portfolio?
You can connect an AI agent in a few ways, depending on your preferred setup:
Use Tori (etoro’s official AI agent)

Use an external AI agent or third-party platform
- Generate an Agent Portfolio API key.
- Provide the API key to your preferred AI agent or third-party platform.
Some platforms support Agent Portfolio management out of the box, and you may be able to connect via etoro SSO.
Can I add more funds to my Agent Portfolio?
Yes. You can increase your investment in the same way as with other portfolios.
The minimum investment amount is $200.
API keys
How do API keys work for Agent Portfolios?
API keys allow your external AI agent or third-party platform to connect to and trade within your Agent Portfolio on etoro (the agent will have access only to this select portfolio, not to your main etoro portfolio).
When you generate the key, you will be shown two keys, as some integrations require both a public and a private key. You MUST save your private key as it will be shown only once, and you will need to provide it to your external agent.

How do I generate an API key for my Agent Portfolio?
- Go to Settings.
- Select Trading.
- Under ‘API Key Management’, click Create New Key.
- Select your Agent Portfolio from the dropdown menu.
The private key is shown only once when it is created. If you lose it, you will need to generate a new key.
Can I use my regular etoro API key?
No. Agent Portfolios require dedicated API keys that are linked specifically to that portfolio.
AI agents
What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is an external tool or software that uses algorithms or artificial intelligence to automatically open and close trades on your behalf via API keys. Some popular examples include Claude Code and OpenClaw.
They are able to:
- connect to your Agent Portfolio using your API credentials
- operate based on their own strategy or logic
Clients who prefer a ready-to-use solution may use Tori with Agent Portfolios.
You should only use tools that you understand and trust. Learn more in the etoro academy.
What can the AI agent access and do?
When using Agent Portfolio credentials, the agent is limited to that specific portfolio and the funds allocated to it.
The agent can:
- open and close trades within the Agent Portfolio
The agent cannot:
- access your main portfolio or other funds
- withdraw funds from your account
- provide you with financial advice
Can I stop the agent?
Yes. You can stop the agent at any time by stopping the portfolio, as you would with a Smart Portfolio.
Alternatively, you can revoke access to the API key associated with the Agent Portfolio directly in your trading settings under “API Key Management”.
Does etoro provide or monitor the external AI agent?
No. etoro provides the portfolio and API connection only.
- you must connect your own external AI or automation tool
- etoro does not monitor or manage the agent’s decisions
- etoro does not provide investment advice
Can the agent lose money?
Yes. Trading performance depends on the strategy used by the AI or automated tool.
You are responsible for the tool you choose to connect, including Tori.
What are the current limitations of the Agent Portfolio?
Agent Portfolios are still in beta version with some limitations:
- funds are held, and trades are executed only in US dollars
- the agent cannot transfer funds to or from your local currency account
- the feature is not yet available for all accounts
