**Select US equities labelled '24/5 Trading' can be traded continuously across pre-market, regular, post-market, and overnight sessions, from Monday 4:00 Eastern Time (ET) to Friday 20:00 ET.

Market orders

When you click Buy or Short to confirm your order at the bottom of the ‘Open Trade’ screen, an order is created. The message ‘Order received’ appears, and your order now shows under the ‘Orders’ section in your portfolio with the status ‘Pending’.

In the etoro AI app, pending orders have their own screen. In your Portfolio, tap the three dots at the top right corner, then select Pending orders from the list.

If the market is open (including pre-market, post-market, and overnight sessions for assets that trade 24/5), the order usually fills within a few seconds. Once filled, the message ‘Order filled’ appears. The order is removed from the ‘Orders’ section, and the trade appears in your portfolio with the execution price shown.

If the market is closed, the trade will execute at the next market opening (or pre-market session, for extended hours trading) at the best available price at that time. This is known as an out-of-hours order. Some stocks may only accept orders during regular market hours.

Limit orders

A limit order is only executed if the market rate reaches your selected target price.

Once your target price is reached, the limit order becomes a market order. The rate you requested may not be traded, and the order may be filled within a market range close to the target rate.

For extended hours trades, a limit order can execute once the target price (or its market range) is reached, during any trading session (pre- or post-market, overnight, or regular market hours).
