Why can I only trade whole shares on some stocks and ETFs?

On etoro, we offer the option to invest in both full and fractional shares on most stocks and ETFs.

As we are expanding the range of assets you can invest in, many of the newly added stocks and ETFs can be traded in whole shares only. If you are not a Popular Investor, they are available to you.

To invest in these assets:

• choose the number of whole shares you’d like to buy or sell, not a USD amount
• place market orders when markets are open (other order types are not supported)

When investing in these assets:

• your position will be backed by the underlying asset
• a small percentage of funds is reserved to ensure the order fills if prices move during execution – slippage protection applies
• orders are executed at market prices, without markup – commission fees on stock positions apply
• there are no limits on the order size, however, the number of shares you receive depends on market liquidity, and your order may be filled only partially

Some platform features, such as adding these assets to watchlists, may not be available initially.
