Why did I receive less than I requested to withdraw?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
If you have received less money than you expected from your withdrawal, here are a few possible reasons:
- Intermediary fee
If we sent your funds via bank transfer in USD, there may be a fee charged by an intermediary bank.
An intermediary bank is sometimes needed to transfer funds internationally from the issuing bank to the receiving bank. This often happens when two countries don't have an established financial relationship.
Intermediary banks may charge a fee of up to US $75 per transaction. This is not charged by etoro or your bank, and can only be avoided by requesting withdrawals in a currency that is not USD.
If your bank declines the transaction and returns your funds to etoro, the intermediary fee may be charged a second time.
- Split payments
We process withdrawals to credit / debit cards as refunds of the original deposits.
If you deposited more than once with a credit / debit card, the funds you withdraw may be sent back to that card in more than one transaction
The processing time for these payments may differ, meaning that one payment could arrive sooner or later than others.
- Conversion fees
There may be a conversion fee when you withdraw funds in a currency that is not USD. See here for full details.
