EUR accounts updated to German (DE) or French (FR) IBANs

In 2025, to provide a more localised experience, we updated the IBANs of our clients' EUR accounts.

Previously, most etoro EUR accounts used Maltese (MT) IBANs. These were automatically replaced with German (DE) or French (FR) IBANs, depending on the account holder's country of residence.

As a result, any previous EUR account details referencing a Maltese IBAN are no longer valid.

What do I need to do?

To avoid disruptions to any payments, you must provide your new EUR account details to:

• all your payees (people you make payments to, such as your landlord if you have a standing order set up to pay your monthly rent).
• all your payers (people who pay you, such as your employer depositing your monthly salary into your EUR account).

We recommend reviewing your payment arrangements and notifying relevant parties about this change.

Where do I find my new IBAN?

You can locate all the details about your updated EUR account in the Wallet.

1. Tap Wallet at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select your local currency account.
3. Tap Account Details.

Desktop/web

1. Click Wallet in the sidebar menu.
2. Select your local currency account.
3. Your account details will appear on the side of the screen.

2. Select your local currency account balance from the list.
3. Tap Details.

What happens to my current balance?

Any funds already in your EUR account are unaffected and fully accessible. You can manage them via the Wallet.

What happens if a payer sends me money using my old IBAN?

If this happens the payment will fail, and you will need to request that the payer send the payment again using the new details.

How do I check my old IBAN?
