How do I set up, manage and cancel Direct Debits on etoro?

Direct Debits allow businesses to collect payments directly from your local currency account, such as subscriptions, rent payments, utility bills, or other recurring payments.

This feature is not currently available in the etoro AI app. If you are using etoro AI, please use the etoro app or the web version of etoro for this action.

How do I set up a Direct Debit on etoro?

Direct Debits are set up with the recipient of the funds. The business you want to pay will ask you to complete a Direct Debit mandate, which is usually an online form, and provide your bank account details.

To copy your account details so you can provide them to the business, follow these steps:

etoro app

1. Tap Wallet at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select your local currency account.
3. Tap Account Details.
4. Tap Share details, then paste the details in another application.

Desktop/web

1. Click Wallet in the sidebar menu.
2. Select your local currency account.
3. Your account details will appear on the side of the screen.
4. Click Copy All, then paste the details in another application.

Once the company collects the first Direct Debit, you can view and manage it.

1. Go to Wallet.
2. Select your local currency account.
3. Tap Send payment, then Manage.

You'll see a list of all active Direct Debits.

From this list, you can view details such as the company name and whether the mandate is active.

How do I cancel a Direct Debit on etoro?

1. Go to Wallet.
2. Select your local currency account.
3. Press Send payment, then Manage.
4. Select the Direct Debit you wish to cancel.
5. Press Cancel Direct Debit.

After cancelling, you'll see a confirmation message that future payments have been cancelled.

Things to keep in mind

• Cancelled Direct Debits cannot be reactivated — to resume payments, you must set up a new Direct Debit mandate with the business.
• Cancelling a Direct Debit stops future payments only, so any payments already in progress may still go through.
• etoro cannot reverse or refund Direct Debit payments on your behalf — for disputes or refunds, you must contact the business with which you have the Direct Debit.
