What are administrative fees?
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Administrative fees are fixed, daily charges per unit for CFD positions held overnight in etoro Swap-Free accounts.
Which positions do administrative fees apply to?
Administrative fees are charged in Swap-Free accounts only. They apply to trades on the following assets:
- Stocks (leveraged buy positions only)
- ETFs (leveraged buy positions only)
- Cryptoassets (CFDs only)
- Currencies
- Indices
- Commodities
Administrative fees do not apply to:
- positions that are backed by the underlying asset
- short and non-leveraged positions on stocks and ETFs
How are administrative fees charged?
- Fees are charged daily after a seven-day grace period.
- They are calculated per lot size or exposure amount, depending on the asset.
- If your trade is smaller or larger than the standard lot size, the fee is applied proportionally.
- For all assets except crypto CFDs, a three-day fee is charged on a specific day during the week to cover the weekend when the market is closed. (Wednesday for currencies and some commodities, Friday for indices, stocks, and ETFs).
How does the grace period work?
For most assets (currencies, indices, stocks, ETFs, and commodities), the seven-day period is counted from Monday to Friday. Each business day counts as one, except for the three-day fee for that asset, which counts as three.
For crypto CFDs, each calendar day counts, including weekends. There is no three-day fee.
So, for all assets, if you open a position on Monday, administrative fees will start being charged the following Monday.
Additional notes
- Certain commodities also include a Spot Price Adjustment for trades held overnight, based on futures contract pricing.
You can find a full breakdown of the fees per asset class and the Spot Price Adjustment on our Swap-Free account fees page.
