What is proof of address?

To verify your account, you are required to provide us with a separate document (different from your proof of identity ) confirming your current residential address.

What information must my proof of address document show?

This document must be issued in the name of the etoro account holder and must contain the following information:

1. Your name
2. Your full current residential address, including:
3. Building / house / flat number or name
4. Street name or number
5. City
6. The date of issue
7. The issuing authority
8. A reference to the issuing authority (logo, contact information, website etc.)

How recent must my proof of address document be?

Most documents, such as utility bills or bank statements, must be dated within the last 3 months. The only exception to this rule is valid government-issued identification, such as a driving licence, which can be used provided it is currently valid.

What are the accepted document types?

We accept documents issued by a bank, a utility company, a government agency, or a judicial authority. If your bill or document is available online, you may send it to us either as a PDF or as a screenshot.

Proof of address can be one of the following:

• Electricity, water, gas, or internet bill
• Driving licence / residence permit / national ID / state ID
• Bank statement / credit card statement
• Council tax or municipality bill / government tax letter
• Social insurance statement
• House Rental Official Agreement – Issued by Government

Which document types are not accepted?

• Documents showing only a PO Box
• Mobile phone bills
• Pension or insurance documents
• Receipts
• Invoices for purchasing goods
• Handwritten bills

Can I use the same document for both proof of identity and proof of address?

No. To verify your account, you must provide a separate document for your residential address, different from the document used for your Proof of Identity (POI).

Can my proof of address document be in my local language?

Yes, we accept documents in the official language of your country of residence.
